Controller
The Controller is primarily responsible for managing the organization’s financial accounting. This involves maintaining all financial accounting records, overseeing tax filings, designing and implementing internal control systems, and preparing accurate, timely financial statements and reports.
Reporting to: CFO
Key Responsibilities:
• Managing the full accounting cycle and producing accurate, timely financial reports
• Preparing quarterly consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS
• Compiling data and drafting the quarterly MD&A for shareholders
• Managing the quarterly review engagements and annual audits
• Overseeing tax compliance and other government reporting
• Staying informed of changes in accounting rules
• Documenting accounting policies and procedures
• Designing and implementing internal controls over financial reporting
• Assisting the CFO in risk management
Skills & Personal Attributes:
• Ability to design/maintain appropriate accounting systems and internal controls
• Proven track record in evaluating and synthesizing financial information for a variety of stakeholders
• Excellent multitasking, communication and critical thinking skills
• A history handling these activities for a public company is most helpful
• Requires a hands-on approach, with a high level of initiative and independence
Qualifications:
• University degree (preferred)
• CGA, CA or CMA designation
• A minimum of 8 years experience in full cycle accounting
• Experience preparing financial statements and related disclosure documents for a Canadian public-traded company
• Knowledge of IFRS

Quality Coordinator/R&D Assistant
One Year Contract – Maternity Leave
As our Quality Coordinator/R&D Assistant, you will identify, evaluate and implement process, quality and technological opportunities that will assist us in our effort to be a global leader in coffee decaffeination.
Reporting to: Principal Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement HACCP and QMS programs and train all employees
• Promote and monitor HACCP compliance, as well as review and maintain documentation
• Lead plant and team members for quality audits and verify/coordinate corrective actions
• Assist in and lead technical project research, as well as management of bench top testing and pilot plant capability
• Research trends and opportunities, and keep abreast of the latest developments in related food science and technology
• Investigate the potential for process improvement in the areas of extraction, adsorption, reactivation and drying
• Manage the operation, maintenance and upgrade of HPLC systems
Qualifications:
• Food technologist or physical sciences technical equivalent
• 4+ years of experience at a laboratory technician level in the food or fine chemicals industry
• Experience and training in the maintenance and operation of sophisticated analytical equipment
• Ability to lead QMS team, provide training on HACCP and ISO 9001, and manage the implementation of QMS and HACCP
• Ability to implement an internal audit program, coordinate research activities and provide training and technical guidance to lab technologists
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with an ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously
